5 Mugshots: 1929-1948

The beginning of the 20th century left behind some wonderful treasure for me to dig through. One particular item that I have been wanting to get my hands on are mugshots from the turn of the century. Lucky for me, the internet has provided some truly amazing and bizarre mugshots.

I made this piece for a show that wonderful folks at Mission Comics and Art are putting together this weekend. The piece will be available for purchase and prints will be available at Wondercon (table D-18) with the ever friendly Lauren Davis (Skoda Man Press). Hope to see you all there.

Big Baby's in the jungle!

Big Baby Jones is based entirely on my father and his mischievous ways.
If you knew him, you would agree. Anyway, here's a quick peek of an upcoming story.

The Comic Book Guide to the Mission Show!

April 2, 2011 at Mission Comics and Art

In case you've been living under a rock or totally not with it like us cool kids, Skoda Man Press has released "The Comic Book Guide to the Mission" (available at your local comic book store!) It was an honor to be a part of this and how I got involved in this beyond me (seriously, Mario Hernandez is in this...how awesome is that! ) To celebrate, the wonderful folks at Mission Comics and Art are putting together a show displaying some of the art work used in the book (along with some personal pieces). Being completely obsessed with Golden Age cartoons and vintage mugshots I thought it would be fun to put those two together! Here's a what I have so far....

The piece will be available for sale at the event. Be there April 2nd!
